From the moment you first get in touch you’ll receive a very warm welcome.
We’ll begin by sending you a questionnaire to fill in. You and your child will then be invited for an assessment which usually lasts between 1½ to 2 hours. We’ll ask if we can collect information from your child’s school as part of the assessment.
We may also carry out a QBCheck, a computer based interactive and objective test, which can be helpful in diagnosing ADHD. We may also do the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), a semi-structured assessment which assesses communication, social interaction and imagination. Usually the doctor will be able to make a diagnosis on the same day and make recommendations on steps forward.
We see children and young people from the ages of three years up to their 19th birthday where there are concerns about concentration, hyperactivity, social skills and obsessive behaviour.
